Description

Brand new high quality fit out eco house with high R values.

The concrete floor was installed with an extra 50m layer of poly to help keep the warmth in.

External walls build from Amboisne polystyrene blocks filled with concrete, 250mm wide with R value of 3.

Poly block walls go past the floor slab right to the ground to stop any heat loss.

Double glazing through out.

Completely North facing.

No rooms in the back of the house, a big long 30m by 5m rectangle to take full advantage of the sun. Oh and the awesome country views!

Huge windows 2.8m high allow full sun to heat the concrete floor.

Ceiling has batts but also another 35mm layer of polystyrene to keep the heat in.

Ceiling R value of 4.2

Laundry is inside so no going out into a cold garage opening and closing doors to put the washing on.

We're recycling gib and poly off cuts and putting them into the internal walls.

We have gas hot water for master bathroom, kitchen & laundry. 26 ltr Rinnai.

We've also put in a 180 ltr electric water heater to service the other main bathroom. This can be turned off if the 2 other bedrooms are not being used. Saves a bit of power!

LPG gas for the stove top.

We're still building but should be ready by Christmas.
