The Energy Doctor was a franchise established in the South Island in 1996 by Brian Robertson to service the heating needs of domestic and commercial customers.

Brian added heating products such as fires, ventilation circulation systems, wool insulation, underfloor heating and solar systems. Many of these products can be utilised in Docta-Lite double glazing solutions. In 2001 the business moved to the current Energy Savings Centre premises in Mandeville St, Riccarton, enabling customers to view the systems in operation.

The Energy Savings Centre has since serviced thousands of South Island clients. A key reference site is the Heritage Hotel in Cathedral Square, in which Insulating Acrylic Windows™ were installed. This was a challenging project because the windows were of varying dimensions.

Most products and solutions offered by TheEnergy Savings Centre are New Zealand invented and manufactured, including the Insulating Acrylic Windows™ and Sola 60 solar water heating solutions.
